About the Queen City Chess Association:

The Queen City Chess Association exists to promote the game of chess in the Charlotte, NC area. Our goals are:

1) To provide Charlotte area chess players of all ages and skill levels the chance to compete and develop friendships with other community players.

2) To promote the game within the Charlotte area; develop methods to bring the game to new people, recruit them and retain them as a part of our community.

3) To develop and administer an annual tournament that is the Championship of the Charlotte area.

4) To chronicle our events and, to the best of our ability, retrieve the history of chess in the Charlotte area.

5) To act as a "bridge" organization for junior players to step into adult chess.
