This QCCA event bundles chess learning with rated games while at the same time earning money for your school, See details. January 5: from Gary Newsom: "Who wants to drive a Grandmaster? On Friday January 27, the start day of Land of the Sky, GM Gareev will be landing at the Charlotte airport at 11:15AM (possibly accompanied by IM Almeida of Mexico). They need a ride to Asheville for the tournament. They would also need a ride back on Sunday night. There is a 6:35AM Monday morning flight that they will have to catch. Is anyone interested in helping out with this? It will give you a good bit of face time with one of the top players in the United States! I have met GM Gareev and he is a very personable and funny young guy.
